Lashley Marks was raised in the Tampa Bay area, and she traveled to Virginia to complete her Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD). As a licensed psychologist, Dr. Marks spent a year in Nebraska serving in the Veteran’s Administration before returning to Florida to work in private practice and university settings.
Dr. Marks is excited to be giving back to the Tampa Bay community through psychology. She is the oldest of four siblings and loves traveling, enjoying good music, and spending time with them. As a therapist, she strives to provide an environment where clients know they are always accepted and supported. Her style is primarily focused on helping people find the skills they can use to cope with various struggles and distress. She often uses cognitive-behavioral as well as acceptance and commitment strategies to help clients incorporate the coping skills they need to bring them closer to living their most fulfilling lives.
She has experience working with clients of all age ranges, with most of her training centering around adults and young adults. Dr. Marks also has experience providing individual and couples therapy, as well as conducting assessments. She has particular interests in anxiety, depression, health issues, inattention, relationship concerns, and has been trained in integrating mental health with issues of faith. Her internship in a VA provided her with experience in working with military populations and those who have experienced trauma. She is honored to have the chance to come alongside people to support them and help them work through life’s struggles.
